Overview
My Pants is a phrase which was introduced by John and Hank Green in their video blog project Brotherhood 2.0. It has subsequently become the name of the online forum for nerdfighters, which is used in addition to The Ning.
Usage
The phrase is humorous when placed after titles, usually of books. A preposition is needed before the phrase, as demonstrated in the following famous example: the children's story Pooh Gets Stuck becomes Pooh Gets Stuck In My Pants when the phrase is applied.
Variations
It is occasionally necessary to change the preposition for correct usage, as demonstrated in the following example:
If one wanted to apply 'My Pants' to the book title Will You Miss Me When I'm Gone?, the preposition would have to be changed to 'from' to achieve a humorous effect:
Will You Miss Me When I'm Gone From My Pants?
However, even more variation can be applied to achieve a greater effect; the phrase can be altered as follows:
Will You Miss Me When I'm Gone From Your Pants?
This variation is now the most common form in use; for example: Scruffy Teddy Likes To Play In Your Pants.
